Through its exclusive distributors network carefully chosen to take account of local situations, TERTU is active within more than 20 countries in Europe and Middle East like Italy, Spain, Andorra, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxemburg, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Ireland, United Kingdom, Czech Republic, Cyprus, United Arab Emirates. In 2006/2007, a third of the guardrails produced by Tertu have been delivered outside France.
To complete its export drive, TERTU takes part, by its own or in cooperation with its distributors, in numerous trade fairs in Europe and around the world.
Recognition of the company and its expertise is also being enhanced by ample communication in the international trade press.
TECHNOLOGY TRANSFERS
This direction of development is mainly concentrated on the mixed wood and steel guardrail. TERTU command of this patented technology has allowed the company to contemplate the production and marketing of the concept on markets further afield through joint ventures or licensing agreements.
In Chile, Tertu has set up, with local partners from wood-related industries, a subsidiary, Ironmad S.A.
After having obtained in 2001 from the local authorities an official recognition and approval of the mixed wood and steel guardrail , Ironmad has received its first purchase orders in 2003 . Since , sales figures have exceeded the most optimistic forecasts .
In the United States, a version of the mixed Tertu guardrail, adapted to comply with North American safety requirements, has been approved for use in June 1999 by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) after a series of successful TL -3 crash tests conducted in California. The first reference sites have been installed in New York State at the beginning 2000. Then, they have been followed by installations in States of Wisconsin , Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Delaware, Georgia, Florida, Montana and Canadian provinces of Newfoundland and Quebec, among others.
In China, to adapt its products to the Chinese roads conditions , TERTU is working closely with the Road Safety Research Center of Ministry of Communication, MOC. With its support, the first demo installation of TERTU’s T22 guardrail has been completed in June 2006 for one of the National Safety Enhancement projects in Mentougou district , Beijing.
Through its Shanghai office, TERTU multiplies contacts in various Chinese provinces with local authorities and potential distributors.
The very first order has been received in October 2007.
Tertu guardrails are also “ down under “ : license or cooperation agreements have been concluded with leading companies in the field of Road Safety such as CSP Pacific in New Zealand and Ingal Civil Products in Australia.
