TEMPORARY AUDIBLE WARNING DEVICES (TAST) OFFERED BY TERTU

Temporary audible warning systems (DAST) are used on a temporary basis at fixed roadworks on motorways and dual carriageways. Their purpose is to alert drivers to a change in the situation by appealing mainly to two senses: touch and hearing. In this way, they can warn road users in advance of a hazard or a change in the road layout.

DASTs take the form of rumble strips installed perpendicular to the direction of traffic. They can be folded into 2 parts using a hinge, which makes them much easier to install and remove after use. The rumble strips are generally installed upstream of the lighted arrow, effectively signalling the start of a work zone.
